Aldi: The secrets behind those "Special Buys"0:50
Aldi Special Buys are discount heaven, but what are the secrets behind how they work and how they pull in the bucks?
There’s nothing like a good online sale and shoppers are already taking advantage of Afterpay’s massive two-day sale that kicked off today.
Shoppers using buy now, pay later service Afterpay can save up to 65 per cent online on full-priced items and sale items.
They brought back their “AfterYAY” sale due to high demand with many big brands offering discounts including The Iconic with 20 per cent off, General Pants at 30 per cent off and Mimco with 30 per cent off on orders over $249 or more.
To get the full savings, shoppers must use the buy-now, pay-later service and they are available online and in-stores.
Shopaholics are already tagging their mates about the sales after brands took to social media to spruik the deals.
Pillow Talk’s general manager Kate Spencer (one of the largest home linen specialists in Australia) told www.3nrs3.cn that customers are already taking advantage and the discounts.
“The flash sale has quickly become one of the biggest days on the retail calendar,” Ms Spencer said.
“We always support it with some of our best offers of the year. It’s come at a great time for us as our beautiful new autumn collection has just arrived in stores and customers are able to get the latest season products at an incredible price.”
No interest accumulates on the Afterpay purchases but there can be late fees.
How it works is buyers use the service to make their purchase, then make four repayments, once every fortnight.
Universal Store, Culture Kings, Sephora and CottonOn headline the brands offering in-store savings.
It covers both mens and women’s fashion, homewares, hardwares and beauty and cosmetic brands such as Sephora. A full list can be found on the Afterpay website.
This is the fourth big sale from Afterpay.
According to Finder, the first Afterpay Day broke retail records with $15 million of sales processed — in fact, during the first hour of the sale there were 1.5 orders processed per second.
The offers are available until 11.59pm tomorrow (March 14).
