The Tricks and Hacks to Winning the Lottery1:37
Many dream of winning the lottery, but there are several methods that individuals have used in order to win. Is it coincidence or a method to the madness?
Lottery fever has surged again. After six winnerless weeks, Oz Lotto has jackpotted to $50 million.
For the third time in a fortnight, Australians have the chance to win the staggering amount after nobody matched all seven winning numbers.
And here are those numbers for draw 1308: 36, 28, 27, 7, 37, 9 and 25 with supplementary numbers 14 and 21.
Just 11 days ago, the Powerball Lotto hit $40 million with one lucky winner taking home the division one prize thanks to a strange set of numbers, all under 14.
Peculiar draws aside, picking your own numbers remains the strongest strategy says The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart. According to him, tickets where entrants had chosen their own set of numbers won more jackpots than QuickPicks.
However, odds still aren’t great. The chances of a ticket matching all of the required numbers are slim at one in 45 million.
“At the end of the day, whether you mark your entry or opt for an easy QuickPick, players need the seven winning numbers in a single game to walk away with tonight’s $40 million Oz Lotto jackpot,” Mr Hart said.
This year, a spate of eye-watering lotto jackpots have already been won, including a record-breaking prize.
In January, a NSW mum walked away $107 million richer after winning off a ticket comprised of “random numbers”. Despite her new found fortune, the healthcare worker said retirement was not in her jackpot plans.
“I’m so passionate about my job. It will drive me to do more health work for causes important to me.”
Oz Lotto also recorded a division one winner in January when an entrant won $20 million.
Last time a $40 million Oz Lotto draw was held was in July 2018; no one was fortunate enough to select all seven winning numbers and the massive jackpot went uncollected.
